I want to be amazing to people, and I think it's a relatively common desire. I want to have people look at me (or something I do) and just say "Wow". Right now the closest I imagine anyone getting is "That's pretty cool".

PS - It's a desire to be the best by an enormous margin.
PPS - So large a margin that nobody could ever catch up.

Fair comment, but remember that you need people close to you in that regard to constantly compete with you. This is best way to keep you on your toes and always at the forefront of new ideas and innovations.
