I don't know about that. There are an awful lot of people who believe government services should be run like businesses, and an awful lot of government services have been headed that direction. I'd say we're backsliding into feudalism in the government arena, as well.
I think many government services are incompatible with being run as businesses, especially welfare. Whether that's good or bad is left for the reader to decide.
